Flight Booking Concepts
Understanding these concepts will help you make the most of the flight booking feature.
Search Flow
When you search for flights, the system:
- Queries multiple airline suppliers for availability
- Aggregates results into a unified list
- Applies filters and sorting to help you find the best options
- Shows policy compliance status for each result
Booking Outcomes
Based on your company's policy settings and booking mode, a flight booking can result in:
| Outcome | When It Happens |
|---|---|
| Direct Booking | Policy allows the booking and company uses direct booking mode |
| Booking Request | Company uses request-only mode, or policy requires approval |
| Blocked | Policy blocks this type of booking entirely |
Traveler Selection
During booking, you select travelers from:
- Your travelers - Travelers you've added to your profile
- Delegated travelers - Travelers shared with you by other users (if delegation is enabled)
Each traveler must have valid passport information for international flights.
